Paper Smooches SPARKS Picture Perfect

Today begins a fun new challenge over at the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog!  It's an inspiration challenge, to use the following picture as inspiration for a card.  Isn't it pretty?

Here's what I came up with for the challenge.  I used some actual buttons and then a bunch of buttons from the Paper Smooches Needle Little Love set stamped and fussy cut from patterned papers.  This set is definitely a must have, it's just super fun and has sooooo many adorable sewing images!  My card background was done using a Sizzix embossing folder.  I inked my card using some wheat ink to soften it.  Then added a kraft layer cut to the size of the button card and added all my buttons.  The paper buttons have glossy accents added for that realistic look.

I hope you'll take the time to check out the SPARKS blog for challenge details and submit your own card!  Also, be sure to check out the other SPARKS Design Team member's creations on their blogs.

SPARKS Designer Drafts

Today I'm sharing a creation for the new Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge!  This week is Designer Drafts, to use this fun sketch for a card.

I just got these cupcake dies from Paper Smooches and had to use them on my card, along with some super fun Paper Smooches stamps.  Isn't this cupcake just the CUTEST?  The dies make it SO easy to create!  I stamped the cupcake top with the dots from Geo-Graphic and added the smile from Sunny Side Up.  Wiggle eyes and gem cheeks finished off his sweet face.  I added a 'wick' to the candle flame with a black fine tip marker and had to add some sparkle with stickles.  My background panel was done using the chevron stamp from Geo-Graphic stamped in Versamark ink.  I then went over the ink with shades of chalk to create a fun ombre look.  Love the soft effect the chalk has!  The sentiment is made using 'hey' from Quick Qwips and I spelled out 'cupcake' using the Alphadot set.

I had tons of fun putting this card together, and I hope you'll give this sketch a try and submit your creations on the SPARKS blog!! :)  Thanks SO much for visiting and checking out my card!

Paper Smooches SPARKS Picture Perfect

Today is the beginning of a new challenge over at the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge blog!  This week's challenge is called Picture Perfect, to use the following picture as inspiration for a card.
I stuck pretty closely to the photo for my layout and had so much fun putting this together.  I chose a patterned paper that was a little on the bright side, so I added a vellum panel to soften it.  A washi border strip grounded my images and provided them with a "table"! :)  I paper pieced these fun coffee cups, steam, and coffee from Paper Smooches' Hot Concoctions and Cyber Cafe stamp sets and created my sentiment using the Alphadot set.  The mustache on the guy mug is from the Hot Concoctions set and I added wiggle eyes to finish him.  My gal mug just had to have a face too, so I added lips and eyes from the Swanky Snowdudes set and just used a fine marker to add eyelashes.  I just loved the soft border around the inspiration photo, so I added my own dotted scallop border using a fine marker.  Love it! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my project!  I hope you take the time to visit the SPARKS Challenge blog and submit your own creation! :)

Paper Smooches SPARKS Designer Drafts

Today I'm sharing my creation for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Designer Draft challenge!  This sketch is such a great one, I had so much fun with this card!
Here's my creation just in time for Valentine's Day! :)  This super cute fox is from the Chilly Chums set, the sentiment was created using the Alphadot set, and the heart is from the Woofers and Tweeters set.  I did stamp kissing on the dotted heart using one of the dotted stamps from the Alphadot set.  Such a fun and easy technique!!  I colored my image using copics and added glossy accents to the little nose and the hearts.  I have trouble making cards that don't use glossy, it adds SO much dimension! The fun embossed background was made using a new Cuttlebug embossing folder, and I used patterned papers from Pebbles and October Afternoon.  I just love mixing patterns and colors, it's such a fun part of papercrafting! Thanks so much for visiting my blog and be sure to check out the SPARKS blog for challenge details! We'd love for you to share your creations with us! :)

Paper Smooches SPARKS Picture Perfect

This week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is Picture Perfect.  We're to use this photo as inspiration for a card.  I love the pattern and great colors in this photo and had fun using them as a starting point for my project.
For my card, I embossed the 'leaf' stamp multiple times onto orange paper with white embossing powder to create a similar pattern as in the inspiration photo.  I added strips of different washi tapes, a doily punch border, and some fun buttons to finish it off.  I couldn't resist using these sweet birdies and branches on my card, that owl is my favorite!  The stamps I used are from the Woofers and Tweeters, Reflections, and Hang Ups sets from Paper Smooches.  They all work so well together and make for very fun and cute cards! :)

Paper Smooches SPARKS Designer Drafts

This week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is a sketch!  This one was a little bit of a tricky one for me, but it was still a blast to create with some SUPER fun new PS stamps!! :)

Here's my creation using the really cute new set called Bold Blooms, along with Simply Said, Daisies and Paisleys and FOLKal Points.  I layered the line art petal and leaves from Daisies and Paisleys onto the solid images from Bold Blooms.  They work together PERFECTLY!  I also added the little cross stitch stamp from FOLKal Points for a faux stitched look across the top. I just love how versatile and fun these stamps are to work with! :)  Be sure to check out the SPARKS challenge blog for more details on this fun challenge, we'd LOVE to have you submit your creations!

CARDS Blog Challenge Card

I'm participating in CARDS Magazine's Blog Challenge for January.  The challenge is to use these GORGEOUS colors in our creation.  I had SUCH an awesome time creating this wedding/anniversary card.  These are some of my most favorite colors!!!

I created this wreath by lightly penciling in a circle using a spellbinders circle die.  I then stamped this sprig from the Paper Smooches Reflections stamp set many times to create a full looking wreath.  The flowers are from the same stamp set and are stamped and cut out and attached to the card using foam tape.  I added some pretty silver pearls to finish off my wreath.  The sentiment on this card is from the Paper Smooches Simply Said set.  It has such great sayings and the lettering style is so elegant!  The border on the bottom of my card is from Martha Stewart, LOVE that one! :)  I finished off my card by adding an aqua satin bow.  Thanks for looking!!!
